Upcoming Elections
The Democratic and Republican Parties of Virginia selected a primary as the method of nomination for their candidates. Because Virginia does not have voter registration by political party and Virginia Code §24.2-530 says, "No person shall vote for the candidates of more than one party," voters will be asked to choose a primary for participation at the polls on June 18th or during the 45 days of early voting (absentee in person). This allows Officers of Election to issue the ballot for your requested political party. Participation in either primary is open to all voters and your reasons for choosing one or the other are your own. Sample ballots are posted to help inform voters. Each of the links below is provided to help Lunenburg citizens participate in and learn results of the June 18th Primary Election. Contact the Registrar's Office if you have additional questions about the dual primary election processes.
