RFP – County-wide Radio Communications System

Lunenburg County, Virginia is requesting proposals for a new UHF P25 Conventional Radio System as specified herein. PROPOSERS interested in providing the specified goods and services shall submit a Proposal to Lunenburg County as instructed in this Request for Proposals (RFP).Lunenburg County seeks to replace its legacy conventional UHF analog radio system. The County requires a single contractor to provide the implementation of a modern P25 radio system, including all necessary physical facilities to support the new radio system. Subscriber units are also required as part of this solicitation and may be offered as part of the radio system proposal or as part of a stand-alone proposal. The County will procure the connectivity network outside of this solicitation.
Lunenburg County has a land area of 432 sq. mi. and is in Central Virginia. The population of Lunenburg County is an estimated 12,000. The existing radio equipment serves approximately 330 public safety and public service users in the County. The existing public safety radio system is at end-of-life and does not provide sufficient coverage or capacity to meet the County’s needs.
The new Lunenburg County Radio System will be a P25 Conventional system using UHF frequencies for voice communications within the County. The successful Proposer shall design and install fixed equipment that must be maintainable for at least 15 years after Final System Acceptance.
